Wanted to eat tuna steak but is short on your budget? Try this easy to follow recipe and enjoy your fine-dining food at the comfort of your home!

Ingredients
1/2 kilo tuna (sliced around 1/2-in thick)
1 tsp. garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil (optional)
What you'll need
Pan (Grill or cast-iron pan would be best)
Tongs
LET'S GET COOKING!
Prepare the tuna slices by rubbing the salt, pepper and garlic powder on both sides of the fish.
Set it aside for at least 15-30 minutes.
Once you're ready, put your pan to medium high heat. Put oil if desired.
Put the tuna slices down on the pan. Cook both sides for around 6-8 minutes each.
Ta-da! Place it in your plate and start plating!
LOOK AT THE GRIDDLE! :O <3
Since this food is a bit dry, it is best served with side dishes such as stir-fried or pickled vegetables or any dish that will satisfy your cravings. When I cooked this one, I had adobong kangkong for the sides and it compliments well!
As Filipinos, it will also never be complete without the sauce or "sawsawan". I included the simple steps on how I prepared it.
Slice 2-3 medium-sized tomatoes. I prefer to remove the seeds because I discovered that these seeds do not digest properly in our stomach.
Squeeze 4-5 calamansi in a small bowl.
Add 1/8 cup of soy sauce.
Tip! Add around 1 tbsp. of liquid seasoning to tone down the saltiness but not overpower the sour taste of calamansi. (For example, I used Knorr Liquid Seasoning and it really tastes great!)
And that's it! This meal is usually expensive in restaurants and food shops ranging from Php100-350.00 for just one slice but I only spent Php150.00 for this meal because I bought the fish at the wet market for Php120/half-kilo. I included the list of prices below for your reference:
